I’m My Own Backup
I’ve learned not to wait for someone to swoop in.
Not the miracle.
Not the apology.
Not the rescue.
Because some days, no one shows up.
No map, no support, no late-game assist.
And on those days?
I become my own backup.
I coach myself out of overthinking.
I remind myself who I’ve already survived being.
I give myself the pep talk I wish someone else would’ve said.
Not because I don’t need people
but because I refuse to stay broken while I wait.
I’ve walked through silent seasons.
I’ve cried in between wins.
I’ve kept going with shaky hands and silent inboxes.
That’s the thing:
You don’t need to feel brave to be brave.
You just need to move anyway.
So yeah
I’m my own backup.
And that doesn’t make me lonely.
It makes me powerful.
Because now I know:
If no one claps, I still rise.
If no one shows up, I still show up.
And when support does arrive, it’ll find me already standing.
Final line:
Be the player who revives themselves.
Even when the team’s gone quiet.
